Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his initial trophy for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has experienced a torrid season, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the US Open.
Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in specific - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-time trainer Cervara.
Presently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.
It is his first trophy since the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt since that period of that year.
Success also indicates the Russian has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my child her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.
The player's defensive approach and regular reactions on the tennis court had prompted commentators to wonder if his skill to compete at the highest level was finished.
But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to approach the net and play aggressively, backed up by an improved serving game.
Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky opponent, securing 4 of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players traded service breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his initial tour championship, gained dominance to push for a final set.
Moutet saved four initial break points in a tight deciding set before the champion broke to that score to serve for the match.
Suitably, Medvedev earned the title with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
